Requirements for our computer and devices
- You must have a Chrome or Firefox browser.

- Your computer should have either Windows 8 or 10 operating systems if you are on a PC. If you are on a Mac, your system should be at least Mac OS X 10.5.
- You should be able to move your camera about. This would allow the proctor to get a proper view of your testing environment when they want to do so.
- Headphones, earphones or other external speakers are not allowed. You would have to make do with your computer’s speaker when listening to the exam proctor (invigilator)
- You can use an external microphone to speak with the proctor if your device’s microphone is faulty.
- You cannot use personal recording devices and you also have to disable all screen sharing and remote access software.
You should test your device before taking the test to ensure that your computer meets these requirements.
Requirements for your testing environment
- You should be alone in the testing environment.
- You should not have books or study materials around you when taking the test
- You should neither be eating nor have food around you while taking the test.
- Cell phones are not allowed in your testing environment.
- You should also avoid wearing jewellery or face masks that make it difficult for the invigilator to recognize you.
- You cannot write the exam in a public place; it is not allowed.
- You should sit upright. Lying on a bed is not allowed.
TOEFL exam structure
The TOEFL exam consists of four sections which include;
- The reading section has about 20 questions and takes about 35 minutes
- The listening section has about 28 questions and takes about 36 minutes
- The speaking section has 4 speaking tasks and takes about 16 minutes
- The writing section has 2 writing tasks and takes about 29 minutes
